Coolbatts is produced form a mixture of basalt and limestone which are melted in a furnace at approximately 1300°C. The molten materials is then spun into fine wool-like fibres by using our high-speed internal spinning technology and collected in a collection chamber and sprayed with thermosetting binder. The fibred coated with thermosetting binder are then heated, cured and bonded into a very light slab which we call Coolbatts. It will be cut into size and fully wrapped with double sided fire-retardant aluminium foil. |
